The Community Store Project of Saranac
Lake, New York
THANKS FOR SUPPORT - MORE STILL NEEDED

To the editor:
On behalf of the Saranac Lake Community Store Interim Board, I would
like to thank all of the folks that came to our Open House on May 10th
to invest. We have now raised more than $281,000, which is evidence of
a remarkable level of commitment from the Tri-Lakes community and
friends across the state.
With the rising cost of gas, the need for a locally owned department
store grows more obvious every day. Because the government economic
stimulus checks are still coming in, we have scheduled another Open
House on May 31st, from 10 to 3 at our 33 Depot St. office (behind
Stewart’s and across from the train station). We think investing a part
of your check is a great way to stimulate some local economics! We will
be launching a new raffle basket (full of amazing things!) and have an
investor willing to match up to $2,600 worth of shares that day as
well. We are also extending our offering through the summer months and
into the fall so that we can make it possible for all the summer
residents that support us to invest as well.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Dan Reilly and his
partners for supporting our efforts and allowing us to use office space
in their building. We look forward to the day when the Saranac Lake
Community Store has its ribbon cutting ceremony in the Depot Street
development! And last but not least, we want to thank all of you who
support our ongoing efforts and have invested in this wonderful and
unique solution to the retail needs of Saranac Lake. See you on the
31st! And if you don’t know anything about the Saranac Lake Community
Store but want to learn more, please visit www.community-store.org.
