The Community Store Project of Saranac
Lake, New York
Planning Committee & Advisory
Board
Gail
Brill: I love Saranac Lake. There is
no other place quite like it and I want to help make it the best it can
be while preserving it's unique and unpretentious charm. I feel
strongly that we need some kind of retail store in the downtown area
that suits the needs of the community. The Community Store seems like
the perfect solution. I am honored to be a part of this project and
can't wait until our ribbon cutting ceremony!
Gay Relyea, Mountain Gift & Powder Co.,
Inc.: I chose to be involved with
the Community Store because I am a local merchant and feel a
responsibility to the residents of Saranac Lake in providing retail
needs while preserving the beauty of our community. The Community
Store Project would not only fill these needs, it would also bring more
business to the already established merchants in the area creating a
healthy retail environment.
Melinda Little: I have lived full time in Saranac
Lake for the past 11 years but have been a regular year-round visitor
for almost 25. When not telecommuting to Santa Barbara, CA for my
business, Independent Means, I can be found walking my dog, Barney,
kayaking or pulling up weeds in my garden. After a hiatus of 5 or so
years, I'm glad to be back on the board of Pendragon, and very pleased
to be part of the Community Store Project.
Wendy Foley: I moved to Saranac Lake
in 1969 to go to North Country Community College. I started Wendy's
Christian Bookstore in 1978 and have been in my present location since
1981. I own the building. I have an A.A.S. in Mental Health fron North
Country and a B.S. in Business Management from SUNY Empire State
College. Married in Aug 1984, no kids.
Sandra Hildreth, Artist & Web Site Designer: I have lived in the north country since
1971, but only moved to Saranac Lake in 2004, to be part of the vibrant
art community and be closer to the mountains I love to paint, hike and
paddle in. I'm happy to be contributing my artistic skills to this
project.
